Carolyn Keys was under a minute of travel from the Montclair Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, endorsed by All Friends Regional Meeting and New York Yearly Meeting during her 25 months of work in Burundi, African Great Lakes Region.  She helped establish the Trauma Healing and Reconciliation Service including the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) in Burundi.  She has just returned from another mission from Rwanda where 19 community participants received 5 weeks of training in AVP. She also studied for nearly 4 months at the Quaker Peace Center in Cape Town, South Africa. 
     She discussed the situation in Burundi, still in cvil ethnic political war, and the progression of trauma and reconciliation work in Burundi and Rwanda.  Carolyn is a long-time friend of the library.
