Caribbean Collection...Oswald Schjang and Arrol Steele, founding members of The Gentlemen of Jones, present a photograph of the group to Patricia Abott for the Caribbean Collection .  The group in existence from the early 1950's is well known for its community service in St. Croix and continues to brighten up Christiansted with the installation of Christmas lights and decorations on the streets and buildings.  They provided information for the organization which will be available in the vertical file collection.                                                
                                                 
                                               
Sylvania Golphin, represented the St. Croix Library Association and the FRIENDS of The Florence Williams Public Library at ACURIL in Havana, Cuba this year...accompanies art produced by Dr. Robert Vaughn who also participated in the conference...note the Che Guevara baret  fashion statement...for more see: December 30, 2001--CUBA, aqui y ahora! Story Hour...Reading Time @ Your Library...Cheza Oriolla is known for collaborative presentation in a variety of languages featuring African culture through music, storytelling, poetry, dance and acrobatics.  Before relocating to New York, she conducted the "Learning is Fun and Libraries in Frederiksted in 1992.It was designed to help children improve their skills in a fun way.
